DEDHAM PARISH COUNCIL UPDATE
Dedham Parish Council is alive and active but along with many other public and private organisations we are unable, at the present time, to have public meetings. The Elections planned for May this year have been deferred for a year so the present Council will continue for another year. Existing councillors will, for the time being, maintain their existing roles.
The Parish Council meeting scheduled for Monday 30th March will not now be called and the April Parish Assembly in April will be deferred. Arrangements for future meetings will be published in due course.
All Councillors are committed to continuing current programmes of work so far as is possible and our clerk will be available to give advice as necessary and make payments to contractors as normal.
In terms of corona virus we are already working closely with Rev. Antony Wilson and the church authorities, the Ardleigh Doctor’s Practice and local businesses all of whom we know are trying hard to continue to operate albeit in different ways to serve the best interests of our Parish. We understand the difficulties facing us all and we all have a collective responsibility to help the more vulnerable members of our community so please look out for your friends and neighbours without prejudicing the real but tough guidance we have received from HMG. For those in need please contact the DEDHAM and ARDLEIGH HELPLINE on 01206 322025. For Parish Council affairs our clerk can be contacted on clerk@dedhamparishcouncil.co.uk or 01255 871483. With the closure of the Craft Centre we will also, for a temporary period, lose our Parish Office on the ground floor which has had to close. Our website will continue to operate and will continue to be updated with helpful information as it arises. Please check regularly.
Please keep safe and follow public guidance.
Cllr.Sheila Beeton
Chairman, Dedham Parish Council.
