The start date for the A120 closure: These closures are for maintenance and improvement works on A120 between Marks Farm Roundabout and Marks Tey. National Highways plans to complete this work from Monday 9 October 2023 to January 2024. National Highways will work overnight between 8pm to 6am on weeknights only, weather conditions permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, National Highways are closing the A120 in both directions between Marks Farm Roundabout and Marks Tey and divert traffic as detailed below.
- Eastbound traffic will be diverted at Marks Farm Roundabout, to travel west on the A120 to Great Notley Roundabout, then take the A131 and A130 to join the A12 at junction 19 and continue north on the A12 until junction 25, Marks Tey.
- Westbound traffic will continue south on the A12 to junction 19, then join the A130 and A131 to rejoin the A120 at Great Notley Roundabout.
Arriva and First Bus overnight services will be affected by the closures. Please refer to their website for updates to their service and scheduled times.
